He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Katherine E. Adams.

He is survived by his sons, George (Betsy) Adams and Kenneth (Bonnie) Adams; daughter, Janet Gammon; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1805 N. Jackson Suites 5 and 6, Tullahoma, TN 37388. A life celebration service was held on Monday in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Alexander officiating.

Burial followed in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation was held before the service at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 615-824-3855 or hendersonvillefh.com. James Walter Batten James Walter Batten, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. He was born on July 30, 1932, in Old Hickory, Tenn.

Mr. Batten was a longtime employee of Dupont Power House. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Susie Batten; brother, Ed Batten; and sister, Melba Neese. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lucille Batten; children, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Wade Bourne, Hampton Bourne, Alex Huckeby, Andrew Huckeby, Joe King, Lee Adams, Bobby Smith and Steven Hurst.

Memorials may be made to either First Baptist Church, Clarksville, or First Baptist Church, Hendersonville. Arrangements are in the care of McReynolds-Nave and Larson Funeral Home, 931-647-3371 or Nave FuneralHomes.com. Dorothy Sue Mayberry Dorothy Sue Mayberry, 53, of Nashville, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Mayberry; father, Robert "Bo" McFall; and grandson, Greyson Mayberry.

She is survived by children, Frank (Emily) Mayberry and Christie (Adam) Gurganus; mother, Joyce McFall; four brothers and one sister; and grandchildren, Bray-den and Clayton. Memorial service will be held noon Friday, Dec. 13, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 7391 North Lamar Road, Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.

She was active in Clarksville community activities as past matron of Clarksville Chapter 202 of Eastern Star, Business and Professional Club, Clarksville Federation of Women's Clubs, past president of the Progressive Study Club, Country Woman's Club and the Gateway Medical System Auxiliary. She and her husband were members of First Baptist Church, Clarksville for more than 40 years. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville. Her husband of 61 years, John Henry King, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Laurei-ta (Reita) King Huckeby, and her husband, Byron, of Hendersonville; grandsons, Andrew and Alexander Huckeby; and several ciate director, case manager, assistant to the directors and as a trained CASA volunteer.
