Guy Parchman, 78, Dies; Retired Farmer ERIN, P. Parchman, 78, retired died yesterday this home in the Grice Creek community, of a stroke. Services will be at p.m. today at Griffin Chapel Nazarene church.

The Rev. Fred Agee and the Rev. Howard Springer will officiate and burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery. The body is at the home. Mr.

Parchman was a member of Houston county quarterly court for 22 years. He was a director for 22 years of the Erin Bank and Trust company. Last January, he was made an honorary director. Mr. Parchman was a native of Houston county, son of J.

J. and Nannie Weakley Parchman. He was a member of the Spring Hill Methodist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Griffin Parchman; two daughters, Mrs.

Etha Fufell Mrs. Eunice Beard, a foster son, Francis Dowdy, Erin; a brother. Charlie Parchman, Cumberland City, two sisters, Mrs. E. L.

Logan, Nashville, Mrs. J. H. Thomas, Cumberland City; and 17 grandchildren. Samuel S.

Newton LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. Samuel S. Newton, 72, retired farmer and school teacher, died yesterday at his home at Second Creek, after a long illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Second Creek Baptist church.

Elder Taylor LeMay will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Osborn funeral home. Mr. Newton was a member of the 1921 general assembly, He taught school about 25 years. was A.

native of Lawrence county, son of Avery and Katie Newton. Mr. Newton was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hook Newton; three, sons, Rhoda Kenneth Newton, Wayne, Clarence Newton, Detroit, Silas Newton, Gadsden, three daughters, Mrs.

Martin Evans, Five Points, Mrs. Mamie Wilburn. Lexington, Mrs. Clara Walker, Hammond, Ind. Jim Carlton SHELBYVILLE Jim Carlton, 48, operator of a farm along the Fayetteville highway, died yesterday in Bedford County hospital, after an illness of three weeks.

The body is at the Thompson funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. A native of Bedford, county, Mr. Carlton was the J. Crockett Carlton, of California, and the late Mrs.

Lucy Holten Carlton. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Others survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina Gay Mooneyham Carlton; one son, Jimmy Carlton; five sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Butner, Mrs.

Margaret Grubbs, and Mrs. Clift Beach, Nashville, Mrs. Jean Nemith, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Eva Claxton, Los Angeles; five brothers Dave Carlton, Atlanta. Fordon Carlton, Los Angeles, WilCarlton, Detroit, John Carlton, Nashville and Ernest Carlton, Murfreesboro.

Sandra Sue Neely LYLES. Tenn. Sandra Sue Neely, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neely of near Lyles, died yesterday morning in Vanderbilt hospital, Nashville, after a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hilltop Church of Christ. Brown McClain will officiate. Burial will be in Hilltop cemetery. The body is at McDonald home, Centerville, Sandra WAR a native of Hickman county and a member of the Church of Christ.

An invalid since birth, she had been taught in her home by a private tutor. Surviving. in addition to her parents, are four brothers, Bobby, Morris Allen and Wallace Neely, all of Lyles, and Ted Neely of Duck River, paternal grandfather, Pem Neely of Lyles, and maternal grandfather, Fred Totty of Duck River. Frank Brown Culp LINDEN. -Frank Brown (Pete) Culp, 73, retired sawmill operator, died yesterday at his home here, after a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McDonald funeral home. Rupert Wallace will officiate and burial will be in Dr. O. A.

Kirk Memorial cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Mr. Culp was a native of Wayne county, son of Jack and Sally Parker Culp. He was a member of the Christian church.
