(AP) Ayako Okamoto, looking for her second victory on the American LPGA circuit, fired a 5-under-par 67 yesterday to take a 2-stroke opening-round lead over four other players in the $150,000 Combanks Orlando Classic. Okamoto's round was interrupted by a 75-minute rain delay, but the Japanese golfer said the downpour and shifting winds didn't bother her as she carded her best 18-hole total of the season.

Her career best is a 9-under-par 65 during 1979 Japan LPGA Championship which she won. Her only victory in the United States came in the 1982 Arizona Copper Classic. Debbie Massey, Janet Anderson, Myra Van Hoose and Kathy Postlewait all shot 69s and were 2 shots behind the leader. PETTUS OWEN WOOD, -1 I 4 It could be a make-or-break weekend for the Tennessee teams ill. the Ohio Valley Conference baseball race, with each team facing a pair of league double-headers today and tomorrow, weather permitting. Southern Division leader Middle Tennessee State, 4-0 In league play after Thursday's easy home syeep of Austin Peay, visits Murray State (1-1) today. Peay (1-3), meanwhile, visits Tech (0-2) for aft afternoon twin-bill. MTSU returns home to host Hurray's Racers on Sunday, While Peay and Tech meet in Clarksville.

The Governors of gety, facing six games in the next two days, host non-conference rival North Alabama at home on Monday. 'This weekend could either put us in great shape to take the division, or it could leave us in trouble," MTSU coach John Stanford said after Thursday's 6-0 and 16-ST wins aver Peay in Murfrees-bore. Stanford is counting on his stable of IS pitchers to come in handy in the four games against Murray. iThia weekend could also be a golden opportunity for Peay's Governors to get in the thick of tiie. league race.

"We held out a Couple of our better pitchers, anticipating this series with Tech," fieay coach Joe Baxter said.
