Died July 18, 1994. She was the widow of Robert O. Beauchamp, he was a long time Nashville educator at Peabody Demonstration School, Brentwood Academy and Franklin Road Academy. Also preceded in death by daughter, Wilhelmina Higginson. Mrs.

Beauchamp was a former member of the Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. She was born in Riverside, KY and lived in Nashville for 69 years before moving to Holmdel, NJ two years ago. She is survived by three sons, Robert O. Beauchamp, Raleigh, NC, Nicholos Beauchamp, Holmdel, NJ, John J. Beauchamp, Knoxville, TN; one daughter, Carolyn Gerrand, Melbourne, Austrialia; two sisters, Nell Pogue, Tucson, AZ, Lucille Allen, Jackson, MS; ten grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren.

Johnson was born on November 8, 1922, in Waverly, TN, the son of the late James E. Johnson, Sr. and Bess Tankersley Johnson of Nashville, TN and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Rosa Lee Johnson, his loving daughters, Pamela Humphrey, Nancy Koester, Cynthia Johnson, Rebecca Evans, Katrina Park.

His brothers are Lanier Johnson, Ft. Pierce, FL and Robert Johnson, Leesburg, FL, his sister is Dorothy Empson, Nashville, TN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He volunteered and served in the U.S. Navy on active duty in the South Pacific from 1942-1946, during WWII, aboard the USS Frazier DD 607.

From 1947-49, he was part of the Johnson Construction Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was a member of E. Nashville High, Class of '41. In 1949, he became a ministerial student at Freed-Hardeman, Henderson, TN.

He graduated with a B.A. from David Lipscomb, Nashville, 1955. He began preaching in 1949, spending 45 years in the ministry. In 1951, he married Rosa Lee Halbrooks of Linden, TN. In 1952, he and Rosa Lee went to Nigeria with the Howard Hortons as the first full-time missionaries for American Churches of Christ, serving from 1952-54.

He returned to Nigeria for the summers of 1966 and 1980 for evangelistic special efforts. In 1955, he and his family moved from Nashville to Ithaca, NY to become the first minister for the Ithaca Church of Christ. In addition to his ministerial accomplishments in the Ithaca area, Mr. Johnson later specialized in speech pathology audiology, earning a MS degree, Ithaca College, 1972. He worked as a speech pathologist in the New York school system for 15 years.

He also began the St. Joseph's Hospital speech and language rehabilitation program, Elmira, NY. She was a longtime Member of the Barton's Creek Baptist Church and the Women's Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was also a Member of the LLL Club at Lebanon's First Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement in 1968, she was a longtime employee and supervisor at the Lebanon Garment Company. Survivors include her son, Herbert Ray McCartney of Rome, granddaughter, Enger McCartney of Boston, great granddaughter, Aliya Smith of Boston, sister, Estelle Jackson of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews.
