THI TCNNESSEAN Monday, April 199 5B Music entertainment lawyer Katz gives UT College of Law $100,000 Joel A. Katz of Atlanta, founding partner of one of the world's largest music entertainment law firms, has made a $100,000 gift to the University of Tennessee College of Law as part of UT's 21st Century Campaign. Katz, Smith Cohen represents more than 75 recording artists, as well as numerous television and motion picture actors, producers, production companies, record label executives, concert promoters, and students with demonstrated financial need and an interest in entrepreneurial or business law. The first scholarships will be awarded for the 1996-97 academic year. The scholarship agreement allows for the recipient to be a student in the lower half of his class academically who is struggling because of financial or family obligations.

ROTC duty: Two Midstate Air Force ROTC cadets were the only ones in the state to be selected for the rigorous Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training this fall. Jed Perryman of Murfreesboro and Ted Geasley of Franklin will take part in the training at Shepard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas for 13 months. Thirteen NATO countries will send pilots to the training to fly T-37s and T-38 planes. Scholarship winner A geography science major at Middle Tennessee State Uni versity has been awarded the Smith Founder's Award from the Southeast Region of the National Association for Campus Activities. At the age of 14, he was entrusted with the total responsibility of the Concessions at Glendale Park. In 1931, along with his brother and father, he built White Way Laundry.

He was also President of Hillsboro Realty Company and the Elam Company. Mr. Elam was endowed with a sound work ethic and high integrity. He stressed family values of the highest order. He always loved the outdoors and the beauty it gave.

He attended Wallace School, Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Active Pallbearers will be the Grandsons. KILLEEN, Harriette Spillers Died suddenly at her home in Franklin on Easter Sunday morning, April 7, 1996 after a short illness at the age of 76 years. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee. The daughter of the late John Watson Spillers and French Shy Baugh Spillers. She was married in 1938 to William Harold Comer, who preceded her in death in 1953. They had two children, Dr.

William Terry Comer of Franklin and Carol Glen Comer Scott of San Diego, California. In 1957, she married James Francis Killeen who served as special assistant to the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency, and served as a U.S. Representative to N.A.T.0. During this service, she lived with her husband in Washington, Rome and other cities. Mr.

Killeen predeceased her in 1987. In addition to her children, Mrs. Killeen is survived by her sister, Glen Spillers Hansom of Memphis, Tennessee and six grandchildren. She was Sredeceased by a brother, Jay Spillers and a sister, Hazel Spillers Brown. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
