A IME TENNESSEAN Wednesday, November 11, THE RECORD LETTERS TO THE EDITOR OAK VIEW LOSING OUTSTANDING PRINCIPAL IN MARILYN WEBB To the editor, Oak View Elementary is losing our Principal of 5 years. Marilyn Webb is being relocated to Kenrose Elementary (scheduled to open fall of 1999). Mrs. Webb arrived in Williamson County June of 1993. Oak View's structure was not even completed, it stood as an empty shell.

Since that time Oak View has flourished and grown, tripling in size. Along the way Oak View has collected many firsts. We were the first elementary school in the county to have a networked computer in every classroom, the first to have a networked computer lab and the first to have internet access from every classroom. We were the first to have a large screen TV connected to a computer in every classroom. Oak View was the first school to make improving student writing a school wide goal and this year our school's writing assessment procedures have been adopted county wide.

Under the leadership of Mrs. Webb, Oak View has been built on a strong foundation. Because of that foundation we can and will continue to grow and flourish, but our vision for the students will remain the same "On Our Way To Lifelong Success." She has been a joy to work with on PTA projects, such as building our Outdoor Classroom, planning fundraisers and this past fall's carnival. Mrs. Webb is a leader who has encouraged us to be creative, try new ideas, keep a sense of humor, all while keeping everyone focused on the common goal "Children First." As sad as I am to see Mrs.

Webb leave Oak View she is the perfect choice as the new principal opening another new elementary school. She possesses the qualities and DEATHS JAMES HARDEN MCCORD FRANKLIN James Harden McCord, 57, a Franklin resident, died Monday in Williamson Medical Center. During our visit, I was privileged to be able to tour the Alternative Learning Center and the Juvenile Court Detention Center of Williamson County 1 that is operated through a joint effort between the General Sessions Court, the Sheriff's Department and the county. Every tax-paying citizen of Williamson County should take the time to learn more about the excellent and well-managed facility we have here in the Middle Tennessee area. I cannot express to you how impressed I was with the professionalism and integrity of this entire operation. Judge Nations and Judge Hoover continue their dedicated effort to provide a fair but tough stance toward violators of the law. Congratulations and my deepest appreciation for the excellent job that the individuals in this facility are conducting on behalf of all the law- abiding citizens of Williamson County.
