The education committee of The General Federation of Women's Club of Henderson-ville presented a $2,000 scholarship from its Darby Day Fashion Show in April to Melissa Edwards, a senior from Beech High School. Edwards will be attending The University of Tennessee this fall, majoring in animal science. A second scholarship of $2,000, provided by honorary member Boo Tidwell and husband Clay Tidwell, was awarded to Jennifer Stein from Volunteer State Community College under the program of "Misplaced Homemakers." Stein is a single mother who works full time while majoring in psychology. "Home Safe" and "Children are People" also received $2,500 from the fashion show proceeds.
